Shipping Policy


Orders are usually dispatched within 1-2 business days. We ship USPS, UPS and FedEx. Our shipping department is closed on Saturday and Sunday so orders placed Friday-Sunday will ship on Monday. We are closed for Federal Holidays as well.

If you have specific shipping needs we suggest you CONTACT US us prior to placing your order. We can generally accommodate most needs (i.e. overnight shipping).

Most orders are shipped without a signature required. If you have a specific preference (i.e. "I want a signature required" or "I don't want a signature required") please let us know in the comment box at checkout.
Some items we sell are restricted in certain areas. Please make sure you understand our TERMS & CONDITIONS (you will be required to agree to them before you can place an order).

If there is a mistake with the shipping on your order and it is found to be the fault of River’s Edge Cutlery, we will pay all expenses to make it right. Any other problems will be charged to the customer or carrier, depending on the situation. If you have specific shipping needs we suggest you CONTACT US us prior to placing your order. We can generally accommodate most needs (i.e. overnight shipping, Insurance, Etc).  Also note; all customers residing in any location outside of Ohio will be responsible for their own state or local taxes and the reporting thereof. All Ohio sales are required to be charged state sales tax unless they are a tax exempt agency.

If your order is more than $99 then shipping is free if you choose the "free shipping" option (we will ship via the most cost effective method) & Insurance is NOT included. If you prefer Insurance, please choose a method other than the "FREE" Option. Buyer assumes all responsibility.

Note: A few items are oversized and do not qualify for flat rate shipping. These items will incur an additional shipping cost at checkout.

We offer both UPS and USPS options at checkout. Some items cannot be shipped via USPS (i.e. Zippo fuel, Pepper Sprays, certain knives, etc) and we reserve the right to modify your shipping selection if necessary. We may also, at our discretion, ship via FedEx.

Delivery time (once an item is dispatched) varies. Typical UPS delivery time is 2-6 days (see the delivery chart below). Typical USPS delivery time is between 2-5 days.

Once an order has shipped a delivery confirmation number (USPS) or tracking number (UPS) will be sent via email. Dispatch time for orders is typically 1-2 business days from purchase.

If you're in a hurry you can purchase Expedited shipping. Expedited orders are given full precedence and in most cases you will receive your order within 3 business days or less (items must be ordered by 3:00 PM EST to ship the same day they are ordered; call us if you need your order shipped same day and it's past the cut-off time).


Address Verification

In some cases orders that are shipped to an address that is not authorized by the credit card issuer are subject to delays, verification emails/phone calls and/or cancellation. Additionally, in some cases orders that are shipped to an address other than the authorized billing address are subject to delay and verification. In situations where we cannot authenticate the validity of an order that order will be cancelled.

You can track a UPS package at www.ups.com.

You can track a FedEx package at www.fedex.com

You can track a USPS package at www.usps.com.

Please Note: a Delivery Confirmation number (USPS) allows you to see when your item is actually delivered to your post office or house. Delivery confirmation is not comprehensive tracking.



Please contact us for a return authorization number before sending items back.  Return shipments that do not include an RMA# will be returned to sender.

Returns are accepted on NEW, UNUSED items within 30 days of receipt. Shipping charges will not be refunded.  Orders that qualify for free shipping will have the original shipping cost deducted from the refund amount. Items that are received by the customer as defective or not as described can also be returned for a full refund or exchange within 7 days of receipt. All original accessories, packaging, tags, etc. must be included and in new condition when returning any item. Flashlights, knives, and any other items that show sign of wear or are not in 100% brand new, original condition will not be accepted for return.

Abuse Testing:  We will not accept returns on flashlights or other items that show abuse, water immersion, or otherwise tested outside of basic functional operation.  If the light fails during your testing, it will then be a warranty issue if the manufacturer's warranty covers the issue.  Please check the manufacturer's warranty policy for coverage and the user manaul for proper care.

Items Excluded From Return:  Batteries  and other consumable items will not be eligible for return unless received as defective

Excessive Returns:  Customers that have a history showing an excessive number of returns may be required to pay a 15-30% restocking fee on any returned items.
