    It's a Tank

Posted by John on 10th May 2021

Where to start... I've been after a Chaves for a bit and happened to be chatting about the possibility of getting a clip cerakoted (voids the warranty according to Chaves btw), when I head it was about to drop. I stuck around and managed to get one ordered before the email ever went out!! This thing is an absolute tank of a knife. The jimping on the top isn't super friendly to your bare thumb, but I get the feeling this is meant to be used with gloves considering how large/thick the knife is and how large the thumb studs are. Even without gloves, it is still a great knife in hand. The clip has 0 hot spots and I never feel it. I really like the clip as well, just enough mall ninja to make the kid in me happy. Blade is fantastic. I love how slicey it is and the complex grind on the blade. Overall, this is an outstanding build and while the jimping is a little sharp, you get used to it pretty quick and just enjoy the marvel in your hand.

Being able to own one of these has been on my list from when I first seen Roman Chavez making the originals. These Midtechs made by Reate don't disappoint as they are built like a tank. So if your on the fence to get one and you have the chance jump on it. This will always be with me and pass down to my kids.
