Real Steel Pelican Black

The Pelican is Real Steel's first collaboration with designer Aslan Zhanabayev. Aslan is an eccentric designer with a portfolio of extremely contemporary designs. The Pelican is a frame lock EDC flipper with a design in keeping with its namesake. The stonewashed 3.35" D2 drop point blade is reminiscent of the beak of a Pelican with highly arched spine and swooping belly. A small portion of the spine has been milled out to give greater purchase on the knife without the needing of jimping. The flipper tab acts as a perfect finger guard to ensure complete safety when bearing down on the knife. The cutout on the spine of the blade also acts as a fantastic resting point for the thumb.

The G10 side of the handle has been precision-milled to form the wings of the Pelicans body, while also providing a secure, comfortable grip with its light texturing. Both the G10 and lockbar sides have been chamfered all the way around to decrease any chance of coming up against hot spots when using the knife. Further additions to the knife are the retrofitted pocket clip which provides a design counterpoint to the otherwise straight lines of the handle. The design the lanyard hold is very unconventional as it is in the spine of the handle and rectangular, but it is still large enough to fit a multitude of lanyard attachments.
