Vapor honing is a process that combines abrasive material and pressurized water to clean or finish surfaces effectively. When used for cleaning, the abrasive removes materials, and water washes them away. When used for finishing, the abrasive smooths the surface, and water softens it. This mixture, known as "slurry," is pressurized before being applied to the surface, making vapor honing a gentle method for surface treatment.

The application of glass beads onto the titanium surface results in a consistently smooth finish. Using fine glass beads achieves either a subdued or satin appearance for the material. This process is an excellent choice for hiding imperfections and forming a uniform finish with a natural texture that is easy to grip. This blasting treatment can be used across all metals. 

Often known as sandblasting, the use of silicon carbide blast media is characterized by its sharpness and exceptional hardness, typical of many carbides. Silicon carbide boasts narrow, pointed edges, making it proficient at etching and effectively priming the underlying material for subsequent finishing coatings.
