Spyderco Bodacious

C263G & C263GBK

Before
After
If you're a fan of large knives made in the USA, the new Bodacious might become your new favorite. Boasting an overall length of 8.27" with a large 3.66" (93mm) blade in CPM S30V steel, it's big. At a glance, it seems that we finally have a contender to run against the Spyderco Shaman and the Manix 2 XL. Spyderco claims it is an "ideal choice for dutybound end users" and an all-black DLC version to satisfy the needs of operators within tactical environments. Designed by Blade Magazine Hall of Fame member Sal Glesser (co-founder of Spyderco). The Bodacious name hails from an American bucking bull that gained fame as "the world's most dangerous bull." It is without doubt that the Bodacious is strong and will be able to handle impressive tasks backed by the same reliability that has come to make Spyderco Knives a household name.

Catcherman Salt Green LC200N Sprint Run

C17GR

Spyderco Catcherman Knife
My fellow fisherman, you're going to love this! Originally introduced in 1992, the Catcherman emerged as a folding fillet knife tailored to the discerning needs of anglers. Amongst dedicated Spyderco collectors, it attained cult status as one of the final models to feature an integrated molded pocket clip. This exclusive Sprint Run reimagines the design in a manner distinct from its predecessors. For the first time, its slender blade is fully flat-ground and crafted from highly corrosion-resistant LC200N steel. The partly serrated CombinationEdge™ blade is complemented by a single-piece fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle, produced in the signature vibrant green found in our LC200N lightweight models. It remains faithful to the original Volcano Grip™ texture on one side, while also incorporating an integrated pocket clip on the other side for right-side, tip-up carry. The Catcherman is rocking a very thin, 0.070-inch (1.8mm) by 4.64-inch (118mm) blade and hails from Spyderco Japan.

Lil' Native Lightweight

C230BK & C230BBK

Before
After
It has been awesome to watch the Spyderco Lil' Native walk the walk and talk the talk. It's gained a more popular stance within the knife community throughout 2023 and for super good reasons. Proving that smaller knives for EDC can be just as worthy of tasking as much as their big brothers and sisters. The initial concept behind the Lil’ Native knife was to deliver the same dependable performance and trustworthiness found in Spyderco's iconic Native® model but in an incredibly compact form featuring a 2.5-inch blade that complies with legal requirements across government buildings and meeting strict knife laws in some parts of the globe. Building on this legacy, Spyderco is pleased to introduce the Lil’ Native Lightweight. This impressive folding knife retains the Lil’ Native Back Lock design while reducing its weight by a massive 40 percent through the use of handle scales constructed from fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). These injection-molded scales offer an improved grip with their Bi-Directional Texture pattern and accommodate a deep-pocket wire clip, allowing for both left and right-side tip-up carry options. The blade of the knife, crafted from full-flat ground CTS BD1N stainless steel, features an easily accessible Trademark Round Hole™ (that we all love) for effortless one-handed opening with either hand, even in gloves. Available in both PlainEdge or SpyderEdge variations, this exceptionally lightweight cutting tool stands in a league of its own. It even comes in a solid black version for those covert nights when you need to pull a lightweight folding knife from your tuxedo to cut the ribbon off of your secret bottle of Scotch.

Manix 2 Brown Canvas Micarta

C101MCW2

Manix 2 CruCarta in Cru-Wear
There is nothing quite like the beauty of patina across some earth-toned micarta scales and it looks like Spyderco agrees because we are lucky enough to see 4 new USA-made models dressed in brown canvas micarta (thank you Spyderco!) que the smell of leather and aged mahogany. We love the blend of traditional and modern materials on a tool capable of lasting a lifetime. The canvas collection will be full-production models so if you're game, they will be around for you to have. Coined as the Cru-Carta model(s). Spyderco has also paired this ball-bearing lock knife with one of the coolest steels for EDC, Cruwear. So bring on the tasks and show it off because this knife will remain capable for a long time between sharpening

Manix 2 Lightweight Salt in CPM Magnacut

C101YL2

Manix 2 Salt
Check out the Manix 2 Lightweight Salt, which proudly brings together all the well-established attributes of this iconic design, featuring a full-flat-ground MagnaCut blade and hardware that's exceptionally resistant to corrosion. If you live in the humid South or work on a ship or near a beach, you are most likely already aware of the Spyderco Salt lineup. This knife lineup is also great if you're a heavy sweater (looking at you; landscapers). Its handle is made of fiberglass-reinforced copolymer (FRCP) and is molded in a vibrant yellow hue to ensure high visibility. It also incorporates Spyderco's distinctive Bi-Directional Texture pattern, enhancing grip security for aquatic environments and fish gut, oily-ridden hands. For convenience, it comes equipped with a reversible tip-up wire clip, the iconic, patented Ball Bearing Lock™, and a readily accessible Trademark Round Hole in the blade, allowing for ambidextrous operation with bare hands or gloved fingers, heck; you can even operate it with a band-aid on your thumb because these things are sharp right out of the box.

Manix 2 XL Brown Canvas Micarta

C95MCW2

Spyderco Manix 2 XL folding knife Micarta and Cruwear Steel
If your arms are working with hands the size of Lebron James or just enjoy large knives, you've probably already handled the Manix 2 XL. Boasting a 3.85-inch (98mm) blade for an overall length of 8.94-inches (227mm) this knife means business but still manages to ride nicely and quietly in the pocket. The second knife in Spyderco's new micarta lineup we are sure this won't sit on the shelf for long at all. If you've not yet owned a knife in CPM Cru-Wear, we highly recommend you give this a shot. Cru-Wear steel has an excellent balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance and still manages to be sharpened easily.

Honestly, I am personally so stoked about this micarta knife lineup that it's hard to not bore you all with images of knives with classy patina, leather-bound books, and glasses of whiskey. Spyderco ensures us that the micarta scales are sanded smooth and left unpolished, so they'll take on a patina the moment you start using it.

Military 2 Brown Canvas Micarta

C36MCW2

Spyderco Military 2 in Canvas Micarta and Cruwear Steel
Behold the 4-inch (102mm) CPM Cru-Wear Blade Military 2 dressed up in Brown Canvas Micarta! This is the third Micarta production model in the new lineup. Introduced in 1996, the Spyderco Military 2 is considered one of the most iconic and recognizable knives ever produced. Made in the good ol' USA and featuring skeletonized, stainless steel liners for weight reduction. This large knife weighs in at only 4.3oz (122g). So, whether you are trail jogging, cutting open an MRE (yum), or simply gliding the Cruwear blade through an Amazon box, this knife is up for the task, no matter how hard. We are looking forward to this model hitting our shelves and then jumping into our hands and pockets. The Spyderco Military 2 was already brewing with character and now that we get Micarta scales! It'll surely feel at home from the field to the table.

Mule Team HIC

MT40

Spyderco Mule Team HIC MT40
A Swiss Spyderco?! Förvåna!  You won't find this one sitting on the REC shelves but you can be sure to find it in our hands. This one comes directly from our friends at Spyderco Knives. Amongst the most distinctive Mule Team blades ever offered, the MT40 Mule is crafted from High-Impact Ceramic (HIC), an advanced Ceramic Injection Molding (CIM) material. This remarkable substance was developed by Harcane Industries of Switzerland and exhibits considerably greater resistance to breakage compared to traditional ceramics. It has been meticulously engineered to achieve optimal density during sintering, resulting in remarkable toughness, and a high degree of resistance to crack propagation. This proprietary material also surpasses steel blades in terms of hardness, allowing it to deliver exceptional cutting performance and edge retention. As this blade is produced through an injection-molding process, it features a full tang with only the necessary holes for mounting handle scales, eliminating the additional weight-reduction holes found in steel Mules. It's important to note that all Mule Team blades are exclusively available for direct purchase by consumers and can be acquired either at the Spyderco Factory Outlet or through Spyderco.com and at a $150 MSRP, it is sure to be a hit.
