Yes. Route is a licensed insurance company and they are partnered with Lloyds of London, one of the biggest names in shipping insurance.
What forms of payment do you take?

Do you offer Gift Cards / Certificates on the website?

Can I pay with a Gift Card / Certificate on the website?
Yes!, at checkout, there is a hyperlink titled "Gift Certificate" under your subtotal, this is where you or the recipient would add the unique gift certificate number.
Do I have to pay sales tax?
If you are located in Ohio, you will have to pay sales tax.
If you are out of state, it is the Buyers Responsibility to pay taxes. We do not charge Tax on out of state purchases.

I am not Military / LE, can I purchase an Automatic Knife?
Buyer assumes ALL responsibilities when purchasing an Automatic Knife. Please check your local laws and regulations regarding such.
Automatic Knife Laws & Assisted Knife Laws. The Switchblade Act, (Pub.L. 85-623, 72 Stat. 562, enacted on August 12, 1958, and codified in 15 U.S.C. § 1241–1245), as may be amended, (the “Act”) prohibits shipment of automatic knives across state lines, with the following exceptions:
(a) to civilian or Armed Forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal Government ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of the Federal Government;
(b) to supply or procurement officers of the National Guard, the Air National guard, or militia of a state, territory or the District of Columbia ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in the connection with the activities of such organization;
(c) to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any State or Territory, or any county, city or other political subdivision of a State or Territory;
(d) to manufacturers of such knives or bona fide dealers therein in connection with any shipment made pursuant of an order from any person designated in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c).
Sections 1242 and 1243 of the Act shall not apply to:
(e) any common carrier or contract carrier, with respect to any switchblade knife shipped, transported, or delivered for shipment in interstate commerce in the ordinary course of business;
(f) the manufacture, sale, transportation, distribution, possession, or introduction into interstate commerce, of switchblade knives pursuant to contract with the Armed Forces.
(g) the Armed Forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his duty;
(h) the possession, and transportation upon his person, of any switchblade knife with a blade three inches or less in length by any individual who has only one arm; or
(i) a knife that contains a spring, detent, or other mechanism designed to create a bias toward closure of the blade and that requires exertion applied to the blade by hand wrist, or arm to overcome the bias toward closure to assist in opening the knife.
There are some areas within the United States of America where we simply cannot ship certain restricted items (e.g. defense sprays, automatic knives, stun guns, knuckles, police batons, etc.). These areas include, but are not limited to: portions of Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. Exceptions are made as local laws permit (proper ID may be required at the time of purchase).
How do I return an item?
Please contact us for a return authorization number before sending items back.
Returns are accepted on NEW, UNUSED items within 30 days of receipt. Shipping charges will not be refunded. Orders that qualify for free shipping will have the original shipping cost and any Paypal / Credit card fees incurred deducted from the refund amount. Items that are received by the customer as defective or not as described can also be returned for a full refund or exchange within 7 days of receipt. All original accessories, packaging, tags, etc. must be included and in new condition when returning any item. Flashlights, knives, and any other items that show sign of wear or are not in 100% brand new, original condition will not be accepted for return.
We will not accept returns on flashlights or other items that show abuse, water immersion, or otherwise tested outside of basic functional operation. If the light fails during your testing, it will then be a warranty issue if the manufacturer's warranty covers the issue. Please check the manufacturer's warranty policy for coverage and the user manual for proper care.
Items Excluded From Return:
Batteries, shaving razors, soaps, aftershaves and other consumable items will not be eligible for return unless received as defective.
Customers that have a history of showing an excessive number of returns may be required to pay a 15-30% restocking fee on any returned items.
When Will my order ship?
Orders that are received before 3pm EST on weekdays will ship same day! After 3pm EST orders will be shipped the following morning, however we will make every effort possible to still get it out same day. We ship USPS and UPS. Our shipping department is technically closed on Saturday and Sunday, but again, we will make every effort to send out same day. Sometimes, orders placed after 3pm EST Friday-Sunday will ship on Monday. We are closed for Federal Holidays as well.
If you have specific shipping needs we suggest you CONTACT US us prior to placing your order. We can generally accommodate most needs (i.e. overnight shipping).
Most orders are shipped without a signature required. If you have a specific preference (i.e. "I want a signature required" or "I don't want a signature required") please let us know in the comment box at checkout.

If there is a mistake with the shipping on your order and it is found to be the fault of River’s Edge Cutlery, we will pay all expenses to make it right. Any other problems will be charged to the customer or carrier, depending on the situation. If you have specific shipping needs we suggest you CONTACT US us prior to placing your order. We can generally accommodate most needs (i.e. overnight shipping, Insurance, Etc). Also note; all customers residing in any location outside of Ohio will be responsible for their own state or local taxes and the reporting thereof. All Ohio sales are required to be charged state sales tax unless they are a tax exempt agency.
If your order is $50 or more, First Class USPS shipping is FREE.
You MUST choose the "free shipping" option.
Insurance is NOT included.
Liability: Product orders with a value of $300 or more are automatically shipped as “signature required.” Product orders with a value of less than $300 are automatically shipped as “no signature required.” If you would like your order shipped with or without a “signature required,” as applicable, simply indicate this to us in the notes box at checkout. If you waive the required signature on your order, you accept all responsibility pertaining to loss, theft or damage. If you pay for shipping, risk of loss and title to the Products transfers to you upon our tender of the Products to the courier; and, if we pay for shipping, risk of loss and title to the Products transfers to you upon delivery of the Products by the courier.
Note: A few items are over sized and do not qualify for flat rate shipping. These items will incur an additional shipping cost at checkout.
We offer both UPS and USPS options at checkout. Some items cannot be shipped via USPS (i.e. Zippo fuel, Pepper Sprays, certain knives, etc) and we reserve the right to modify your shipping selection if necessary.
Delivery time varies. Typical UPS Ground and USPS First Class delivery time is 2-5 days. Typical USPS Priority delivery time is between 2-3 days.
Once an order has shipped, a delivery confirmation number (USPS) or tracking number (UPS) will be sent via email.

Please Note: a Delivery Confirmation number (USPS) allows you to see when your item is actually delivered to your post office or house. Delivery confirmation is not comprehensive tracking.
