Arguably one of Benchmade’s most exciting releases, when the SHOOTOUT® launched, this handsome out-the-front in EDC form had the knife world buzzing. The new 5371FE and 5371BK-01 SHOOTOUT® variants features a more EDC friendly drop point blade profile for everyday carry, with the same out-the-front double-action mechanism, the molded Grivory® handle’s got detailed grip texture that provides fast indexing and greater control in high-pressure scenarios. The 5371FE and 5371BK-01 also shed the lanyard loop, bringing back the original glass breaker — because this OTF EDC doesn’t mess around.

Great OTF
Benchmade seems to be hit or miss in quality these days. This one is a hit for me. Cruwear is a great steel hands down. One of the few I’ve seen put it in an OTF. A lot of people are turned off by (plastic) handles rather it be Benchmade, Spyderco and so on but honestly it’s a strong and durable for a pocket knife. I like the weight it reduces and for me you get so much better grip. Aluminum is nice but when my hands are cold might as well be glass it’s so slippery. Never had that problem with the plastic handles. It fires decent much like Microtech. Easy to operate as tension is about the same as guardian, tactical, live wire and the new GEN three and GEN four Microtechs. Has not failed on me yet. I’m happy with the purchase. Benchmade could knock the price down and keep their fancy new boxes but it is what it is.

A very happy anniversary
Picked this up as an anniversary gift from my mother to my father and I must say I am incredibly jealous. He’s going to love it!

Light EDC OTF
Most of the OTFs I have gotten in the past are Microtech. Wasn't sure about the plastic handle but after using it, wouldn't have it any other way. Its so light and has great grips. Action is nice and smooth and solid with no play that I can notice. This has turned into one of my favorite EDC knifes.
