Chris Reeve Small Sebenza

The idea behind the Sebenza has never wavered: to craft the best pocket knife in the world.  Premium materials, paired with pristine finishes, and a bank-vault lock-up— all within an incredibly light, precision-made tool. That commitment continues with the new Sebenza 31 with a Ceramic Ball Interface.  Like the very first Sebenza, it delivers the same warm “click” and heirloom quality produced from aerospace tolerances.  The Sebenza 31 brings finer details to already fine knife — and another steady, reliable step forward.

Made from stabilized wood and profiled to fit precisely inside handle pockets, the Sebenza 31 with Bog Oak blends utilitarian needs with clean lines and pristine finishes. Bog Oak is rare wood in the beginning stages of fossilization. Buried and preserved in a peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years, Bog Oak's hues are deep brown to almost black wood. Wood Inlays are made from natural materials, so you can expect a variation in color and wood grain.

    CRK...enough said

Got this small Sebenza to go with my Large Inkosi. If you are considering a Chris Reeves Knife don't believe all the hate you may find for these fantastic pieces. Are they drop shut guillotine knives...no. Even though I had researched this fact previous to owning my 1st CRK I was still a bit surprised by the action. Now that I've spent time with them and understand the incredible tolerances they are designed and produced with, I see what all the fuss over the years has been about. They are truly great heirloom quality knives that can be passed down through generations. These knives will withstand every day use for just about anything you need and not even think blink. The Magnacut at 63-64 HRC if simply perfect. I understand why people say no way to the price but for me it's worth it. They are a little high in today's plethora of choices but nothing I own out of about 40 folders worth around $8k has the feel of a CRK. Take the leap, get a feel for their operation & quality and enjoy. They are also incredibly easy to disassemble for any routine maintenance or adjustments you wish to make. If you can swing the cost you should check 'em out.
