The Ridgeback offers multiple grip holds for different use applications. The enlarged choil allows the user to hold the knife by placing the flipper tab between the index and middle finger, leaving a recessed area along the spine of the blade to place the thumb for more precise cutting. The proprietary locking mechanism developed in house relies on an incredibly precise relationship between the dual sealed precision bearings and the locking pin. This mechanism offers multiple ways to deploy the blade that results in a highly distinguishable “click” and a rock-solid open position that is indiscernible from a fixed blade. When the job has been completed and its time to send the blade home, the button lock allows the user to quickly and effortlessly close the blade with one hand while keeping the thumb out of the path of the cutting edge. DRK's reversible pocket clip proudly displays their logo into a functional aspect of the handle, allowing the knife to be placed on either side of the body.

About Dead Reckon Knives

Dead Reckon Knives started from the idea that mechanically innovative, structurally sound knives could be designed and manufactured in America at a cost that rivals what overseas manufacturers produce. Backed by over 50 years of manufacturing expertise and over a decade's experience in U.S. Military Special Operations, we blend cutting-edge machine shop techniques with practical user insights. DRK isn't reinventing the knife, they just set a course to improve its form and function in their own unique way.

    Dead Recon ridgeback

This is an awesome knife built like a brick sh#t house.I got the wharncleaver blade style in the almighty tough 3V the grip is all one piece flat dark earth 70/75 aluminum with black and green micarta inlays this is looks so good but can take anything you wanna put it thru ive carried it daily for several weeks now and it gets better and better. The action is good new but takes a little breaking in but just a few day of figiting with it and it becomes butterly smooth . I like overbuilt knives thst can take a beating because my knives are tools i use and abuse and the dead recon knives are built to take it. They have sealed bearings which is great for me anything that keeps dirt from getting in there is a plus. Yeh these knives are not cheap but youd be hard pressed to find a knife built like with all premium materials and to make it even better these knives are in house built they make every piece even the screws are made in house the only piece on the knife they dont make themselves is the sealed bearings and they are usa made as well. Its a veteran owned company they guy actualy desighned this knife style while serving in iraq all of this and a lifetime warranty is something you wont find very easy especialy in that price range so if your thinking about getting one do it youll like it and you can use this hell out of it and i gurantee it will be around years from now to pass down to someone because there built that tough.last thing i wanna think Brian for messaging me back and answering my emails fast on several occasions like we been and talked like we been buddys for years lol that means alot and something that you just dont get much these days. So the last few knives i have bought came from REC and will continue to be my go to knife store because of there customer service
