I wanted an quality OTF and did alot of research. Settled on the counterstrike and could not be happier, finding one maybe your first issue and second is getting it for $340. If the stars align, there isn't a better option with Carbonfiber, magacut steel, titanium screws, a looker and you can work on it. And hogue is no joke when it comes to customer service.
The materials and craftsmanship you get for the price fiercely rival any other otf in this price range, and it even punches up a bit at the higher priced models . If you can find it for 340 hop on it, it’s a great deal on some well hardened, razor sharp magnacut steel For those wondering, there’s a delete screw in the packaging to replace the glass breaker. Shipping was fast and securely packaged, and the Sezzle option is a must have.
If this were a Microtech (which I own 2 of) it would cost $500-$600 if made with the same materials. Sure but the Microtech would be a much better made piece you say....WRONG. This is every bit as good and even a bit better in some areas. Seriously....Magnacut Steel, perfect CF & milled aluminum scales, titanium hardware, incredibly solid lock out & a delete screw to replace that God awful glass breaker. I have several OTFs & this one is right there at the top. It is most definitely worth the price. After this one came in I actually sold my MT Ultratech. I currently have 5 Hogues (Counterstrike, K320 Collector, Deka Collector, Ritter Hogue & a Magnacut Deka Modified Wharny) Every single one is perfection in build quaility. They are so good that I sold 13 knives that these 5 simply beat all to hell. If you want a premium OTF with out having to spend 5-6 hundred bucks, this is a great choice as is the Guardian Tactical 035 which has a bit more blade play but is a juggernaut of quality for less cash....highly recommend. BTW the new Kershaw OTF is a freakin' home run as well but its currently out of stock everywhere. Make no mistake, Hogue is at the top of their game....just pull the trigger. You'll love it!
I love it. Great fit and finish. Crazy sharp out of the box. And easier to open and smoother than any of my Ultratechs. I hope they start making these in colors/different blades.
Nicely designed svelte chassis. Awesome choice of materials- CF, Magnacut and deep blue screws. And of course fast shipping from REC!
Absolutely love this knife! Thin profile makes it easy to carry. Fires with authority, and it’s not too hard or too easy to deploy or retract the blade. Feels a lot nicer than its price point. Not a fan of the glass breaker but they include a flat screw to delete it if you so choose. Not my fanciest or most expensive OTF, but it’s my favorite to carry.
