The Strop Bat makes short work of putting that final "Scary Sharp" edge on all of your knives.

It is meant to stay in the workshop or be hung in the kitchen ready to use.

Works on all edges, but excels at Convex grinds.

It is approximately 16" in length.

The handle section is 6 - 7 inches.
The stropping surfaces are 9 Inches long by 1.5 inches wide.
It is constructed of Red Oak and has four leather stropping surfaces:

• 1) First use the side Preloaded With the Black Compound.
• 2) Next use the side Preloaded With the Green Compound.
• 3) Then use the side Preloaded With the Pink(Blue) Compound.
• 4) Finish up with the Plain Leather for the final Polish.

Made in Schaumburg, IL

* Please note: There is a $7.00 flat Rate shipping charge on this item due to weight.

Notes:

Compound is not graded like sandpaper. But a close approximation is:
Black 3000
Green 5000
Blue 7000

2. Alcohol will clean the leather but it also pulls the oils out of the leather and will make it "harden". While It won't hurt the leather or affect the performance, You can use saddle soap or mineral oil on it to soften it back up again. (The Strop doesn't need to be soaked, just wipe some on)

You can also use olive oil or anything similar to that. (Seed oils might get a funky smell after a while. FYI..)

    JRE STROP BAT

I like having the handle and its preloaded with compound. Been using on my knives and so far works well. The leather is 1/8'' thick and should last a long time. Only improvement I wish it was an 1/2'' wider so it would 2inches on all four sides.

    Strop

Everything is great about this strop but it seems that the strop compound is a bit dry in the leather and seems to be wearing off quite quickly. Would have been nice if there was listed on the website additional compound to run on once it is depleted.

This is the best strop I’ve come across. Good size, 4 different options, and good price.

    Excellent for all knives!

Stropping my pocket knives and kitchen knives has given them a scary sharp edge without taking off hardly any steel. This strop bat has enough compound to last a long time and gives my knives a razor edge. Highly recommend!!

The strop bat works great! It takes very little effort to bring my blades back to optimum sharpness. I'm happy with the price too. I just found out about Rivers Edge Cutlery from Metal Complex on YouTube and I'm glad I did. REC had what I was looking for in stock when others were sold out. I'll be back for more

    Very well made

I’ve wanted a bigger strop for several years now. This one is 4 sided and 3 sides already pre loaded is a huge bonus. Now I’ll be able to get my blades even sharper. I’m very happy with the quality of this strop. Shipping was quick as well so that’s another plus. Thank you again!!

Nice, well made product. Works very well and I am very pleased with this purchase. Stropped 3 knives already, and took a sharp honed edge to razor sharp in just a few minutes.
