OD Green Dial, OD Green Ammo Can Bezels
With the Model 3, Serge wanted to bring back the unique styling of the Model 1 but with some changes that many of you asked for, mainly a smaller, lighter watch. The Model 1 weighed in at almost 200 grams (7 ounces) with the steel bracelet, the Model 3 meanwhile is 73-90 grams (2.5-3.2 ounces) depending on the strap and bezel material. The case width also shrunk from 42mm to 40.33mm, and the case thickness from 13.3mm to 10.9mm.
What allowed him to make the Model 3 so much smaller and lighter is using a quartz movement instead of a mechanical, specifically the Miyota 2035.
Another benefit to using a quartz movement is the reduced cost, the MSRP on the Model 3’s is about $100 less than the previous two models. The
accuracy on the Miyota 2035 movement is about +/- 2 seconds per month.
The water resistance of the Model 3 is 200 meters, the crown and caseback are screwed in to provide maximum water resistance. Dial lume is Swiss Superluminova, BGW9 on the 12, 3, 6 and 9 indices, C3 on all the rest and also on the hour and minute hands.
Model 3’s come with two straps, a black rubber like the one that came with the Model 2 and a brown leather. Both straps have stonewashed buckles to match the case finish.
