Sharp Dressed Knives - Shaman Scales - *REC Exclusive* Purple Haze

Reviewing both the Shaman and Smock models of sharply dressed knives handle scales in Purple Fat carbon. They are excellent in almost every way, the patterns are gorgeous, and fit almost perfectly. I say almost perfectly because somehow the scales are just a bit to thick, and the pocket clip screws no longer will tighten onto the liners. The threads just barely touch the threaded section on the liners, so I can feel the screws try and catch, but they aren't long enough to actually tighten, they just catch and slip. I'm going to get new screws, but for replacement handle scales the handles really should work with the pocket clips standard hardware or come with a set that works. It's just a total pain to be able to figure out what size screws they are, and where to buy them as they aren't a standard and available size. (I called Spyderco and they weren't willing to let me buy longer screws in the same size and style through them) Normally that would upset me a lot more, but the scales themselves are so sweet I'm still giving them 4/5 stars, and if they either came w screws that fit they'd be 5/5 for sure.

Love them. Fit and finish is outstanding. I highly recommend these scales.

I recently ordered a pair of shaman purple haze cf scales from Rivers Edge and the fit and finish on these is superb. I’ve had scales from a few makers and these are right up at the top as far as quality go, ergos are similar to factory and the dense carbon makes even the coolest looking shaman feel like a working knife despite how beautiful you just made it with the scales. They certainly feel robust in quality and feel.
