    reinventing the original worker

Posted by Eric Gribbell on 7th Aug 2025

When I first saw this knife it reminded me of the first Spyderco ever made called the Worker. Same upswept blade shape with the protruding thumb hole. A modern homage maybe? Aside from that, it's an outstanding knife. Love the smooth aluminum handle and pocket clip design.

Spyderco C272ALBKP Essenza – First Impressions After a Few Days of Use

Posted by Petr Dvořáček on 8th Jul 2025

I’ve been carrying the Essenza C272ALBKP for a few days now, and it quickly became one of my favorite EDC knives. The slim black aluminum handle feels really comfortable and lightweight in the pocket—no bulk, just smooth, clean lines. The Böhler N690Co blade is sharp right out of the box and cuts effortlessly through everything I’ve tested so far—paper, boxes, even some food prep. The full-flat grind helps with smooth slicing, and the drop point shape gives me good control for detail work. Opening it with the thumb hole is easy and satisfying, and the liner lock feels very secure. The pocket clip rides deep and discreetly, so it doesn’t snag or feel awkward when carried. One thing I noticed is the handle can get a bit slick if my hands are wet, but otherwise, it’s a solid, reliable knife with a refined look. For the past few days, it’s been my go-to—and I’m really happy with how well it performs for everyday tasks without feeling bulky or overbuilt.
