The Vosteed Tala or Talarurus, named after a unique armed dinosaur, is a knife that combines fun, uniqueness, and everyday practicality. It features a 14C28N modified sheepsfoot blade with a lightly curved belly and a pointed tip, making it ideal for precision piercing, cutting, and other tasks. Designed with user comfort in mind, the Tala's blade spine and the top side of the handle are perfectly aligned for a seamless feel. The knife includes a thumb disk for a comfortable thumb rest and a swedge ramp that creates a smooth thumb slide during use.

The Tala offers four handle variations: blue, black, and green micarta, along with a white G10 option. Each handle is designed with a sleek, modern, and ergonomic shape, ensuring comfort during prolonged use. The width, finger access, and finger choil are all carefully crafted for maximum usability, and pocket clip slots on both sides of the handle provide ambidextrous carry options.

For smooth operation, the Tala is equipped with a ceramic ball-bearing system and a crossbar lock, allowing for effortless and ambidextrous opening. The skeletonized liners add to the knife’s lightness and durability, making it suitable for extended use. Additionally, the thumb disk facilitates easy, one-handed deployment, making the Tala a practical and versatile tool for everyday carry.

    Unique Budget EDC

Posted by Zachary Chione on 24th Oct 2024

The Talarurus caught my eye for its unusual shape and lines. It looks quite stylish for a budget folder. What's really impressive is that unique style still feels very comfortable in the hand. Ergos are fine even for my larger hands, and it's actually practical to choke up just under the blade edge when desired. This is my first folder with a thumb disc which wouldn't be my first choice but works well. The action and lockup are solid, and I love the recessed deep-carry clip.
