The Caribbean is one of many mid-year release models in 2018 and is being offered in optional blade shapes and cutting edges. Style and vibrancy are the focal point in this latest installment and features Spyderco's patented Compression Lock mechanism--allowing users to safely close the blade with one hand without ever having the operating hand come near the cutting edge. As part of Sypderco's Salt Series of ultra corrosion resistant knives, the state-of-the-art LC200N blade material is actually the same material used by NASA for the ball bearings in their aerospace applications. Furthermore, this nitrogen-based martensitic steel holds a great edge and is completely rustproof. This model, the C217GP, features a black and yellow G-10 handle, skeletonized stainless steel liners, a leaf shaped blade in a satin finish, Spyderco's trademark round hole opening feature and the reversible pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only but is eligible for a left or right hand carry option.
