I'mnot a diver or underwater demolition expert...so I bought this to be a safe queen. For a one off design, Spyderco did nail it though. Way off the beaten track for them, but they still pull off a really good auto.

I got one out of the consignment case. It was LNIB and came with a Lynch spider web clip along with everything to replace a broken spring!! I've had it in my pocket since It came after the 22nd Anniversary Show. They also did a regrind on an old Gerber that had been stolen and found. Excellent job!! REC and Spyderco for making autos a reality!!
Picked up a new Spyderco Autonomy 2 a couple of weeks ago from REC. I have a few other OTS automatics before I bought the Spyderco but was interested in what it offered including blade steel, modular automatic spring design and G10 handle scales. Comparing it to my Pro-Tech TR3 with DLC Magnacut blade and aluminum groove handle I noticed the size was comparable but the Pro-Tech had a more refined feel and action. This is not a complaint about the Autonomy 2 as it is an extremely well made knife, almost brutish in comparison to the Pro-Tech. I absolutely love both knives because of there differences, action on the Spyderco is just as strong as the Pro-Tech which they are widely known for. I didn't know if I would like the Autonomy until I purchased it, very glad I did. It will stand up to anything you throw at it! Excellent customer service as always from REC.
This thing is hefty, and the blade flips out with PURPOSE. Both positive attributes in my eyes. Thanks REC! Solid as always.
