Designed by renowned Polish custom knifemaker Marcin Slysz, the Spydiechef is an extremely refined folding knife that takes the user-friendly ergonomics and balance of a world-class chef’s knife and translates them into an all-purpose, everyday-carry folder that is impervious to the elements. A proud member of Spyderco’s Salt Series™ of ultra-corrosion-resistant knives, the Spydiechef features a gracefully curved blade crafted from LC200N. This state-of-the-art nitrogen-based alloy is extremely corrosion resistant and is actually used by NASA for the ball bearings used in aerospace applications. The blade’s broad profile and full-flat grind create exceptional edge geometry that ensures precise, low-friction cutting performance.

To reduce weight, optimize balance, and simplify cleaning, the Spydiechef features an open-backed handle constructed with two precision-machined solid titanium scales. The reverse-side scale houses a stout Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism that locks the blade firmly open when in use. For additional security when working around water, the handle also includes a lined lanyard hole for easy attachment of safety lines and lanyards and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip for convenient, ambidextrous carry and quick tip-up access.

An impressive synthesis of custom-quality craftsmanship and advanced corrosion-resistant materials, the Spydiechef offers extreme cutting performance in a package that is immune to even the harshest environments.

    Custom Spydiechef

Posted by Alex Glueck on 26th Jul 2021

Bought a Spydiechef from REC and had them grind the blade into point as well as anodize the scales bronze. They were great about working with me via text pictures during the process. They end product is outstanding. Always loved the idea of the Spydiechef but do no like sheepsfoot blades. REC solved my problem and got it turned around and to my door very quickly.

    Great Experience

Posted by Clark S on 6th Feb 2021

I recently picked up my first Spydiechef from the good folks at REC, and had a great experience doing so! I called the shop, took advantage of their free anodizing, and received a beautiful knife wearing bronze titanium scales. If you’re on the fence about whether to purchase from these guys, I can tell you that REC will not disappoint. Very happy customer, here!

    Perfect EDC

Posted by Patrick L. on 18th May 2020

This knife has become my favorite for EDC. I like how slim it is and the wire clip. The one I got opens and closes nicely and has such a quality feel in hand. I live in SE Georgia near the ocean so the corrosion resistance is great for my situation. I don't need this nice a knife for EDC but I do enjoy owning and using it.

The knife itself is top notch. One of spydercos Best designs for any knife enthusiast. The guys at REC outdid themselves with the anodizing. Already got good comments on this wicked purple knife. The service as usual, 5 stars. Thanks guys for keeping the EDC community happy with your customer service.
