Great knife and amazing steel. Only nitpick is the g10 scales weren't rounded at all. But it's g10 and was very easy to fix. REC were great to buy from.

I really didn’t know what to expect, most reviews of the maxamet series are either AWFUL becuse of broken or chipped blades, or amazing and had been used for years with no problem. I haven’t put it through all the paces yet myself, but I’ve cut up some boxes and rope and done some normal edc tasks with no problem whatsoever so far. I’ll just be careful and treat this steel how it should be used, and It should last a long time to come. Also the fit and finish is hands down the greatest I’ve ever seen out of the golden factory. I have a freaking ton of Spydercos, a lot. So I have a lot to compare to. It’s absolutely beautifully smooth and the edges on the G10 and blade are knocked down a bit making them smooth and handsome. There’s NO lock stick, which is rare in my experience. I love the stone wash. It’s hard to spend $300 on a PM2 these days, so the amazing finish on everything makes it feel a lot more worth it. Also thanks REC, I had $25 in points, so that helped a bit too. I’m really happy with it! It’s nice to finally have some maxamet to go with my Rex 76 and 15V

If you don't know the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, you're missing out. It's one of the best EDC knives out there. I have 3 of them now: the tanto, the S110V, and now this Maxamet version. As a professional knife sharpener, I have worked with a lot of different steels, and Maxamet is a performer that has little competition in terms of toughness, durability, and performance. The blade geometry is perfect for just about everything you can throw at it - boxes, fabric, leather, even zip ties (which can be tough for knives of lesser steel.). It was crazy sharp out of the box, but being the sharpener I am, I put a mirror polished edge on it, and it was much more forgiving than the S110V. I would (and have) used this blade to shave my face. You can't go wrong with this bad boy, and it is definitely worth the extra money over the standard versions.

My knife shipped fast and arrived in a box, not a padded envelope like some other guys use. I really appreciate the REC sticker, REC bandaid sleeve, and the handwritten thank you note. Top notch customer service here. The PM2 itself is flawless, blade centered, drops shut, no blade play at all, unique polished/stonewashed blade finish. Excited to see what Maxamet is all about!
