Black Bird Blades Kestrel Custom Fixed Blade

The Kestrel fixed blade showcases "Brut de Forge" hand-forged craftsmanship through a finish that leaves the rough, black hammer-forged scale on the upper portion of the blade while polishing the cutting edge. 80CRV2 steel delivers toughness and edge retention for demanding cutting tasks. The deep acid etch to black followed by a stonewash creates a distinctive rustic appearance. GripTech GripX scales provide a secure grip that won't slip during hard use, paired with G-10 pins, liners, and a lanyard tube. Handmade leather sheath with stitching and eyelets comes with a milled clip for versatile carry options. Use it as a pocket sheath for discreet carry or configure for scout carry on your belt. Hand-forged character meets functional design in a blade that wears its forging process as a badge of craftsmanship. Please be aware that the specifications listed are only estimated. Being that these are completely handmade, there will be fluctuations.

Brut de forge (French for "raw from the forge") is a knifemaking style that leaves the rough, black hammer-forged scale on the upper portion of the blade while polishing the cutting edge. It signifies a hand-forged, rustic, and durable tool, often featuring an integral guard, that requires precise forging to avoid looking messy.

    Gorgeous Fixie

I’ve always found Vincent Rizzo’s design language to be very appealing and getting the Kestrel in hand is an absolute thrill. That hammered, straight from the forge look gives it a beautiful old world aesthetic, not to mention it was hair popping sharp. It’s my first knife with Gripx handles and I think I’m hooked. Super impressed with the grippiness. The leather sheath is also a work of art in its own right. This won’t be the last knife I get from Black Bird Blades.
