Spyderco Pathway
The Pathway was directly inspired by the original Waterway and designed by Lance Clinton, a professional kayak fisherman—built for water users, outdoor adventurers, and field professionals who demand genuine "do-all" capability refined through real-world experience. This fixed blade features a 4.43-inch 9Cr18MoV stainless steel blade at 0.125 inches thick with a full flat grind and low-friction edge geometry, delivering excellent balance of toughness, corrosion resistance, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. At 9.50 inches overall and 3.69 ounces, the Pathway excels around water while proving equally capable for a broad range of outdoor chores—a versatile tool reflecting the deep experience of a professional outdoorsman.
The full-tang blade is sandwiched between injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales featuring Spyderco's signature Bi-Directional Texture pattern for a secure grip in all environmental conditions, whether wet, gloved, or demanding. The acute, utilitarian point delivers precise cutting capability across diverse applications from camp work to water-specific tasks. The generously sized lanyard hole enables easy attachment of lanyards and safety lines for water use or secure retention. The included snap-fit injection-molded FRN sheath with fully configurable G-Clip mount provides convenient carry in a variety of positions and gear configurations. 9Cr18MoV steel proves reliable and responsive to field sharpening, making maintenance straightforward when far from home. This is practical design born from genuine field experience.
