The Boker Plus HEA Hunter designed by Sam Abdelrahman convinces as an avant-garde pocket knife supplied with a functional design and extraordinary details. Since his youth, the full-time knifemaker from Brooklyn has always been keen to be prepared for all eventualities and to always have the right tool at hand. When HEA Designs was founded in 2014, he was already able to draw on many years of experience in the areas of development, construction and design. The ball-bearing clippoint blade made of D2 with an impressive hairline finish can be opened either by thumb hole or front flipper. It is supplied with a characteristic ricasso and a pronounced groove and is reliably locked in place by a stainless steel framelock. The three-dimensionally milled handle on the front is made of blue G10 and sits securely in the hand at all times thanks to the fine texturing and deep grooves. Supplied with a lanyard hole, a milled stainless steel clip (tip-up/r) and a high-quality nylon pouch for storage.

One design flaw that makes this unusable for me

Posted by Paul on 19th Aug 2023

I gave it 2 stars because it's made decent and the D2 blade came sharp out of the box. The flipper tab isn't in the usual location so I had to get used to flipping it open--this was fine because I liked the challenge of figuring it out. The one thing that keeps me from putting this knife in my pocket is the tip of the blade does not have enough protection when closed into the handle. I was pushing the knife into my pocket and he clip is a little stiff so I had to apply some extra force. I ended up cutting myself because the skin of my hand is soft and flexed into the space between the handles where the tip of the knife resides when closed. The tip has so little protection that it cut my hand. I have never had this happen with any other folding knife and I have a lot of them. I've cut myself before for being careless with knives but this is just weird and not right.
